Nicky Sygall spent many years as Head of Psychology at St Vincent's Hospital, and Senior Clinical Psychologist in Rehabilitation Medicine. She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, and a Founding Member of Australian Clinical Psychology Association. 

​

Nicky has over 20 years experience as a clinical psychologist, providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a broad range of difficulties and problems.

​

She has expertise in the areas of: 

• depression,

• anxiety (generalised anxiety, health/illness anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety),

• interpersonal difficulties, family conflict, relationship problems,

• living with chronic pain,

• emotional adjustment to disability and illness (cancer, inflamatory bowel disease, MS, stroke),

• post traumatic stress, complex trauma,

• health anxiety,

• grief, loss and bereavement,

• cognitive difficulties following stroke or trauma,

• carer concerns, and

• living with chronic health issues.

Nicky has special interest in the mental health of people with cancer and other serious illnesses.

​

She has a warm, gentle manner and values a client-focused, team approach to the mental health care of her patients. She uses evidence-based, trauma-informed therapies, and works collaboratively with her clients to help them decide what therapy and strategies are most suitable for them.
